VISION & MISSION

Our vision is to be a people committed to growing in our relationship with God and each other and to allow God to use us as His vessels to establish His Kingdom in the lives of those in our community. We are committed to the central authority of Holy Scripture, liturgical worship, sacramental ministry, open to all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and are determined to live and preach the Gospel message of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We seek to see people saved, healed, taught, encouraged, equipped and empowered to become mature Christian disciples that will love one another like Christ and impact the world they live in for the Kingdom of God, regardless of adversity.

OUR MISSION:

Through the preaching and living of the Gospel, Sacramental worship and ministry, the gifts and empowerment of the Holy Spirit, we as a church seek to be agents of healing, committed to prayer for others, to be witnesses of Christ through our words and actions, and to making mature disciples of Christ.

What do we mean by sacramental? At the most basic level, we mean that God uses material things to convey His presence to us. The most supreme example of this is the incarnation of Jesus Christ, where God became flesh (John 1.14) so that we might know Him. In our worship, we believe that God still takes common, ordinary things of life, like bread and water, signs and symbols and uses them to convey His life to us. Historically, these have been known as sacraments. We hold to the seven historic sacraments of the early church: Baptism, Holy Communion, Reconciliation, Confirmation, Holy Matrimony, Holy Orders, and the Anointing with oil. While some have looked on these as “dead rituals”, we have found that rituals are neither dead or alive, but only true or false, biblical or unbiblical; it is people who are either spiritually dead or alive. What we have discovered is that these true rituals are meant to be used to help grow spiritually alive people!

What do we mean by evangelical? We mean that we believe that the Bible, interpreted by the continued witness of the ancient church, is the final authority on all matters pertaining to faith, doctrine and practice (2 Timothy 3.16). We believe in the necessity of evangelism, making disciples and stress growing in our personal relationship with Christ (Matthew 26.16-20).

These include the gifts referenced in 1 Corinthians 12. Therefore, we anticipate God’s presence and working through His spiritual gifts both in our worship, daily life and acts of service.
